Hubby's Birthday

Aug 31, 2011

Not sure what type of fold you would call this.
(Center step card???)
These two represent our baby girls.
Maylena on the left is 3. Leilani on the right is 1.
(I can't believe how much they really look like my baby girls)
My most "Raider" looking font =)
This banner is about 10 feet long.
Didn't have enough Raider paper so I scanned it and printed more.

I loved surprising my hubby with this birthday card and banner. If you hadn't already noticed from my previous Raider project here, my hubby is a BIG time Raider fan. He was so proud of the card and banner that he took pictures of them right away and sent them to his friends =)

I also surprised him with a party. He knew that I invited a few friends but he had no idea that I invited so many people. We have a teeny tiny house and managed to squeeze over 60+ people in here. Good times... good friends... lots of laughs.

Items used:
Twinkle Toes Cricut Cartridge (girls)

Insomnia... turned crafting

It's nearly 3:00 AM and I still can't sleep. My body is exhausted but my brain won't shut off. Tonight I'm thinking the culprit was a yummy cup of what I thought was decaffeinated tea. Since I couldn't sleep... I had two choices: watch horrible infomercials or do some crafting... I've done a little of both ;)

Items used:
Gypsy
White gel pen
Ribbon (Walmart)
Paper (from my stash)
Create a Critter Cricut Cartridge (beaver, tree trunk)
Sugar and Spice Cricut Cartridge (scalloped circle)
Peachy Keen (Just Baby Face Assortment - Just for the eyes)
Sentiment: Scrappy Moms Stamps

I'm entering this project into the following challenges:

Will I ever get to sleep tonight... I should I start working on my hubby's b-day card???

Sweet Princess

Aug 22, 2011

It's my nieces second birthday this weekend. While I was watching her last week, she loved to tote around all my daughter's stuffed animals while wearing a princess dress with matching shoes :) Ahhhh... I love this age!

Altered Projects

Aug 16, 2011

Between our friends and family, I'm always surrounded by little ones. Everyone seems to love having custom baby wipe cases. Here are a few cases that I put together today. You can see my previously made baby wipe cases here .

I love... LA!

I've had a bit of promotion towards our households favorite sports teams lately. You can check out my Raider project here.

I don't have a way to cut out SVG's (only have a Cricut), so I made my own baseball gift bag with the baseball image from Boys Will Be Boys and my gypsy. I welded together two baseball shapes and a series of rectangles until I got it to look like a gift box. Once I cut it out, I just had to score along the edges and form it together.  I think I'll start using this technique with several other shapes... especially with the holidays right around the corner ;)

My Craft Spot - Gift bag, box, or container
Bitten by the Bug 2 - Baseball cut

Prince Charming???

Aug 12, 2011

Still looking for your prince? Have you tried kissing a few frogs?

I have two little girls and I think we've watched the Princess and the Frog about a million times. I love that opening scene when the little girls pretend the cat is a frog. Super cute!

I used Peachy Keen's everyday character face assortment for the eyes and mouth. But I had to spread out the parts. So I taped over the parts I was not using, inked up the stamp, and removed the tape before I stamped.

Go Team!

Aug 10, 2011

You have no idea how happy my hubby was when he found out that football season was back. He's been scrambling like crazy to set up a Fantasy Football Team and have all the guys over to make their picks. So I made him a notebook and matching pen to keep track of all his notes. He loved it so much that text pictures to a bunch of his friends. Now I have to make at least a dozen more for his buddies :) Hope I can find enough paper!

Since this one is plain and manly... I could easily see this notebook being perfect for a Jr. high/ high school/ college student. So I'm entering it into a few back to school challenges.

I'm entering this project into the following challenge:
My Sheri Crafts  - #66 Back to school - book covers, journals, notebooks, bookmarks

Encouragement

Aug 8, 2011

This coming weekend is one of our church's local crusade known as the Harvest Crusade.

In 1990, Pastor Greg Laurie began holding large-scale public evangelistic events through Harvest Ministries. Since then, more 4,240,000 people have attended Harvest events around the United States, Australia and New Zealand. More importantly, more than 353,300 people have made registered professions of faith through these outreaches.

We are very excited to be apart of this ministry and reach out to others. We have decided to become Start Friends at Harvest. A start friend commits to taking a new believer further down the road into their faith.

When I became a new believer, I didn't have ANY christian friends. My friends were into partying all the time and it would have been really easy for me to slide back into that lifestyle. But then I met my good friend Michelle. She was incredibly supportive and helped to guide me through my walk. I would like to be that friend for someone else.

I know that whom ever the lord would like me to befriend is going to have some days that are filled with difficulties. So I've created this encouragement box that I'll fill with uplifting hand made cards. Although the cards will be dedicated to someone else, I'm dedicating this box to myself. I'll leave it on my desk as a daily reminder to encourage others in the name of the lord.

Jeremiah 29:11

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
