Tangled Princess Birthday

Nov 4, 2011

Are you ready for a TON of pics?
I went a little crazy decorating
for my 2 & 4 year old's birthday party.
But I get two birthdays done in one shot...
so why not go crazy right?

(you can click on each picture to see it larger)
If you haven't seen the movie Tangled... you've gotta see it.
 The cake table.
We had two giant cupcakes, 48 regular cupcakes, and Rapunzel's tower.
 Rapunzel's tower.
I got the idea from Super Mom Moments

The tower is made with: 4x4x4 foam block, pre-made pecan rolls, straight-sided muffins and an old-fashioned waffle cone, yellow candy coating (with purple food coloring because they ran out of purple candy coating), and tons of icing.

36 of the 48 cupcakes went on the stand.
I got some Tangled stickers and used my 1" circle punch
Then my 1 1/2" scalloped punch
And some long toothpicks

View of the crafting area.
Close up of the crafting table. We started off with painting, made some crowns, and did some friendship bracelets. I had more crafts planned but the kids got really carried away making the friendship bracelets.  As you can see... they even went to the floor to make more room.

This is was a last minute idea... There's a song in the movie called, "I've got a dream." So the clouds have some of the characters dreams from the movie and everyone one else wrote their dream on the paper. I just placed packaging paper over one of our pictures and taped everything on.

This is one corner of the play room.
The kids could go and get dress up clothes.
The play room was a complete disaster within 15 minutes :)
The rooms were completely covered with purple banners.
In the movie... Flynn Rider is really mad that his nose is drawn wrong in every wanted poster. So I made 40 copies of this poster and made a different nose on each poster. The kids/parents had a good laugh at each poster scattered all over the house!
I placed the goodie bags in the box. I put water colors (Rapunzel paints), a fruit roll (pascal's tongue) and bubbles (because all kids love bubbles) in each bag. But I forgot to take a pic of the goody bag :(

baby shower decor

Jul 26, 2011

This weekend we celebrated my in-law's baby shower. I made several creations but only took pictures of a few. These are the baby shower favors I made. They are simple 6x6 sheets of paper that were scored at 1/2 and 3 1/4. I made about 50 of them minus a few that my hubby and girls ate before the party.  They were a big hit with the guests and great gifts for almost any occasion. I can see making them for students and co-workers during the holidays as well.

I'm entering the party favors into More than Favors, Cricutless challenge

I also created this huge banner with my Imagine using Country Carnival. Each letter measures at 6 inches and it spanned the whole room.

I'm entering this entire post into My Sheri Crafts, Party decor challenge

P.S. I'm considering making a video on how to do the party favors above. If you would like to see a video on how to make the chocolate favors above just leave me a message :)

It's a Girl!

Dec 27, 2010

I have to admit that I haven't been in a crafty mood lately. But my good friends Carol and Raul had a baby shower and I was forced into being crafty. She is due any day now and they're expecting a little girl. Maybe this small gift will give me back my mojo.

Autumn Inspired Wedding Box

Oct 8, 2010

I made this Autumn Wedding Box for my friend Liz. She asked me if I could make a box for her sister's wedding to hold cards from guests. The bride requested a burnt orange box with off-white/ivory ribbon and deep red flowers. When I tried the deep red flowers, it looked a little weird so I went with ivory flowers to match the larger ribbon. The flowers look lighter in the picture but they are an exact color match (I have horrible lighting in my living room :)

I'm thinking I did pretty well for my first wedding box. And I want to thank Liz and Janet for the challenge.

B-day Signs

Aug 24, 2010

I've been having way to much fun with my Cricut lately.
I made these adorable birthday signs for my friends.

I hope they like them :)

This was my first attempt at using vinyl. It's not a birthday sign like the heading says (put it on the wrong post). The vinyl is on my 2 year old's door. She is sooooo spoiled :)

B-day gift bags

Aug 3, 2010

All of the gift bags are made of felt.
I made about 25-30 of each for different b-day's.
I think the tractor is my favorite :)
