Yo ho... pirate birthday

Nov 28, 2011

It's my godson's 5th birthday. And I'm just as excited as the kids to go to his Pirate's Dinner Adventure Show. (I'm sure I'll have a cute layout of that next week). But until then, here's the card I made for him.

A-maze-ing

Nov 19, 2011

I just got my new Silhouette Cameo in the mail on Thursday. I had company over so I wasn't able to play with it right away... but I stayed up all night making up for it. I made a thank you card for a friend just to learn some of the functions then I made this super cute lay out.
The patterns came from Little Scraps of Heaven using Pumpkin Patch Fun.
I'm usually the photographer... so I'm not in any of the pics :(
But I've gotta say... I LOVE this machine. It's a-maze-ing!
It cuts so easily none of my pieces (not even the tiny ones) were cut out wrong.
I'm super happy with my purchase and recommend the Cameo to everyone!

Tangled Princess Birthday

Nov 4, 2011

Are you ready for a TON of pics?
I went a little crazy decorating
for my 2 & 4 year old's birthday party.
But I get two birthdays done in one shot...
so why not go crazy right?

(you can click on each picture to see it larger)
If you haven't seen the movie Tangled... you've gotta see it.
 The cake table.
We had two giant cupcakes, 48 regular cupcakes, and Rapunzel's tower.
 Rapunzel's tower.
I got the idea from Super Mom Moments

The tower is made with: 4x4x4 foam block, pre-made pecan rolls, straight-sided muffins and an old-fashioned waffle cone, yellow candy coating (with purple food coloring because they ran out of purple candy coating), and tons of icing.
Birthday banner
36 of the 48 cupcakes went on the stand.
I got some Tangled stickers and used my 1" circle punch
Then my 1 1/2" scalloped punch
And some long toothpicks

View of the crafting area.
Close up of the crafting table. We started off with painting, made some crowns, and did some friendship bracelets. I had more crafts planned but the kids got really carried away making the friendship bracelets.  As you can see... they even went to the floor to make more room.

This is was a last minute idea... There's a song in the movie called, "I've got a dream." So the clouds have some of the characters dreams from the movie and everyone one else wrote their dream on the paper. I just placed packaging paper over one of our pictures and taped everything on.

This is one corner of the play room.
The kids could go and get dress up clothes.
The play room was a complete disaster within 15 minutes :)
The rooms were completely covered with purple banners.
In the movie... Flynn Rider is really mad that his nose is drawn wrong in every wanted poster. So I made 40 copies of this poster and made a different nose on each poster. The kids/parents had a good laugh at each poster scattered all over the house!
I placed the goodie bags in the box. I put water colors (Rapunzel paints), a fruit roll (pascal's tongue) and bubbles (because all kids love bubbles) in each bag. But I forgot to take a pic of the goody bag :(

My birthday girls!

Thankful Project

Nov 1, 2011

It's Design Team Day over at Inking It Up Crazy
We were asked to make a gratitude/thankful project.
I feel so blessed that the lord has intrusted in us to raise our two girls.
They are truly a gift from above =D

I painted the plywood with a magnetic primer then painted
black paint over it. The frames and letters can be easily changed.

As you can see... these pics have been taken on the floor.
I haven't had the chance to hang it on the wall just yet.
And I want to get smaller letters for my girls names.

And I'm thankful that I had this challenge...
I've been wanting to do this project for over a year =D

Items Used:
Previously made scrapbook pages
2'x4' plywood
molding and corners
magnetic primer paint
black/white paint
white letters
magnetic strips
white 12"x12" metal frames

Dia De Los Muertos Blog Hop

Welcome to the Dia De los Muertos
A celebration of life blog hop!

If you just came from Patty's blog you are in the right place, if not you can go back and start from the beginning  with one of our very talented Hostesses Abby

Ok now on to my project! I knew right away that I wanted to make a scrapbook layout to celebrate my grandparents' life. My grandfather, Ramon Valdillez, passed away about 2 1/2 years ago. My grandmother, Maria Valdillez, passed away last month.

My grandma was such a hottie!
I miss them both but I know they're happy
to be reunited in the lord's kingdom.
By the way... my dad is the good looking gentleman
in top pic - second from the left.
