Ahoy, me Hearties!

Aug 3, 2011

Ahoy, me Hearties! Shiver me timbers n avast ye pirates n booty.

LOL... I'm such a nerd! I couldn't resist a little pirate lingo that I remembered from Pirates of the Caribbean. The sentiment is computer generated.

I'm entering these cards (10 in all) into the following challenge:

Celebrate the Occasion - challenge #24, kid's birthday

Soar to Success!

Aug 1, 2011

I've made my first water bottle holder for my little one's first day of school. You simply throw a Crystal Light in the pouch and place it in the lunch box with an inspiring note. I think children of all ages would love this little gift in their lunch or back pack when they head out to school. It would also be a great teacher gift!

I used my Creative Memories circle pattern to create the holes for the top of the water bottle. You can visit my beautiful friend Georgi to purchase Creative Memories supplies at mycmsite.com/sites/georgifelix1

I'm entering this project into:

Shake out the Sprinkles!

Jul 28, 2011

Hello all! I made my first shaker card. I've had this card on my mind since Saturday, but I needed something transparent so you could see the sprinkles. As I was cleaning out some of my teaching supplies, I found a whole box of transparent sheets used for the old school overhead projectors. It worked fabulous! My niece is having her 4th birthday this weekend and I wanted to make a different kind of card for her. And what's a cupcake without real sprinkles? Thanks for the awesome idea Erika ;)

I'm entering this card into Erika's Shake You Card Challenge over at Crafty Sprouts.

baby shower decor

Jul 26, 2011

This weekend we celebrated my in-law's baby shower. I made several creations but only took pictures of a few. These are the baby shower favors I made. They are simple 6x6 sheets of paper that were scored at 1/2 and 3 1/4. I made about 50 of them minus a few that my hubby and girls ate before the party.  They were a big hit with the guests and great gifts for almost any occasion. I can see making them for students and co-workers during the holidays as well.

I'm entering the party favors into More than Favors, Cricutless challenge

I also created this huge banner with my Imagine using Country Carnival. Each letter measures at 6 inches and it spanned the whole room.

I'm entering this entire post into My Sheri Crafts, Party decor challenge

P.S. I'm considering making a video on how to do the party favors above. If you would like to see a video on how to make the chocolate favors above just leave me a message :)

Lil Cupcake (wiper card)

Jul 13, 2011

I made this card for my niece's birthday. I wanted to try something new and found Erika's wiper card tutorial at Cricut Love. Check it out and try one of your own. It's super easy :)

Digital Invite

Jul 3, 2011

Here's my first digital invite that I created using SBC studio by Creative Memories. With two baby girls and an endless supply of pictures... I've transferred to using digital scrapbooking over traditional scrapbooking just so I could keep up. I'm also having fun creating other projects with my digital scrapbooking materials... like this fun baby shower invitation. My brother in-law requested his 4 favorite teams to be reflected on the invite. I've blocked the address along the bottom, but I wanted to show you how cool digital scrapbooking can be. If you're interested, you can check it out at my friend Georgi's website with Creative Memories. Just tell her Ana Maria sent ya ;)

Bouquet of Deliciousness

Jun 2, 2011

I think I've been watching way to many episodes of Cake Boss ;)

Here is another creation I made for my bible study group. Found great directions on you tube (search for cake pops). Instead of using cake I used brownie mix. Found that it stays together much easier and it's SUPER rich.

My flower came from Hello Kitty Greetings cut at 3 1/2 inches.

I'm also linking this up on Patches of Pink's link up party.

Yummy...

May 19, 2011

Got a sweet tooth??? How about a low fat treat. I made this yummy treat for my bible study group. We meet tomorrow night, but I know I won't have enough time to make it after work tomorrow so I stayed up late to make it tonight :)

Layers (from the bottom up):
angle food cake
banana creme pudding
cool whip
bananas (with lime juice to keep them from turning brown)
strawberries
blueberries
(repeat the layers again)

This is always a big hit at parties and it's super easy.

I'm entering this into You Had Me At Craft's  Made it myself Monday.

Playing with my new Imagine :)

May 14, 2011

I've been so busy lately that I haven't had much time to craft. But my hubby bought me the Imagine for Mother's Day and I just had to take it out of the box and give it a try. (They are currently on sale at cricutmachine.com for $299... no shipping... no tax! I also got the Best Friends cartridge for $29.)

I'm entering this simple birthday card into More Than Favors Wacky Wednesday Challenge. The challenge is anything goes. I'm in need of lots of extra birthday cards for my students.

For my hubby

Apr 21, 2011

Today is the day that I married my best friend, my love, my everything. I'm so thankful that the lord has blessed our marriage, our children, our home. It's been a crazy year but the lord has carried us through and made us stronger than ever. Happy Anniversary baby!!!

Ummm... yes, that's suppose to be me... in lingerie :)

I've gained what???

I'm super excited to be a guest designer over at My Sheri Crafts this week. The challenge is to use buttons. I've used 12 buttons by layering most of them.

This is an easel card and the image is is called Tubby Tub from Squigglefly. Once again, I colored with my daughters Crayola colored pencils. (About time I get some mommy colored pencils... LOL)

*** On a personal note... My LASIK was a complete success!!! I'm now seeing 20/15 (which is better than 20/20)!!! The surgery didn't hurt at all and it was done in less than a few minutes per eye. It was so great to wake up this morning and not have to reach for my glasses just to see the alarm clock ;) I used to hate to wear my glasses in public but here's a final mug shot of me in glasses.

I donated my old glasses to the Lion's Club. They give them to needy families and have even supplied some of my students with some gently used glasses . WOO HOO!!! NO MORE GLASSES!!!

*** Oh... I made a blog button. Someone please tell me if it works. Thanks!

The image is from Dude Time Doodles. I wish I had some Copic markers to color this in right. But I had to settle for using my daughter's Crayola color pencils :) I was also able to use scraps from a previous project. Check out Dino... Fetch from a few posts back.
